NSE Block Deals — large single transactions where the traded quantity is at least 5 lakh shares or the total deal value is at least ₹10 crore. Institutional and HNI activity tracked daily after market close.
A block deal is a single, negotiated trade between two parties for a large quantity of shares, typically at least 5 lakh shares or a minimum value of ₹10 crore in India. These trades are executed through a special block‑deal window on the exchange and are usually initiated by institutional investors, making them a useful signal of large, strategic buying or selling. Block‑deal bhavcopy data records symbol, quantity, price and value for each block trade, helping market participants track institutional flow, identify unusually large prints and analyse historical block‑deal data alongside regular bhavcopy data.
