Block deals and bulk deals are large institutional transactions reported separately by NSE. A block deal is a single negotiated trade of at least 5 lakh shares or ₹10 crore executed in the special block-deal window. A bulk deal is a trade where a single client transacts more than 0.5% of a company's shares in one trading session. Stocks that appear in both block and bulk deals on the same day — crossover stocks — often signal particularly strong institutional conviction. Tracking these alongside buy/sell bias over a rolling window helps identify where large money is accumulating or distributing.
