SME turnover for September 2026 came to approximately INR 7,021.3 crores, up 16.9% from August's INR 6,007.9 crores. Breadth stayed mildly negative for the month, with 274 symbols closing up against 284 down and 11 flat. New 52 week highs (51, verified) trailed new 52 week lows (62, verified), the same tilt to the downside seen in August. Here is the detail, based on insights from bhavcopydata.com.

New 52 week highs and new 52 week lows
Fifty one symbols touched a genuine new 52 week high this month. Ashutosh Fibre Limited (ASHUTOSH) led them by turnover, jumping from INR 92.00 to INR 147.00 on 7 September alone, then extending to INR 164.50 by 11 September before easing back to close the month at INR 153.50, up 66.8%. Shanti Inorganics Limited (SHANTIINOR) ran a sharper version of the same pattern, almost doubling from INR 83.00 to INR 165.55 on that same 7 September session, reaching INR 194.15 by 15 September, and settling at INR 176.50 by month end, up 112.7%. Both moves built up over a run of sessions rather than fading after the first jump, which is what keeps them inside the mover count below, unlike the two corporate action prints discussed next.
Sixty two symbols touched a genuine new 52 week low, continuing to outpace the highs as it did in August. Mos Utility Limited (MOS) slid from INR 9.15 to INR 6.90 through a run of lower closes, down 24.6% for the month. Abh Healthcare Limited (ABH) fell further, from INR 102.00 on 31 August to INR 41.30 by 30 September, a steady slide through the month rather than a single bad print, down 59.5%. We could not identify a specific trigger for the ABH decline from the data on bhavcopydata.com, and are reporting the number as is.
Two prints that were corporate actions, not real moves
Oriana Power Limited (ORIANA) screened as the month's steepest faller at negative 74.6%. NSE's own bhavcopy data flags a corporate action against the stock on 18 September, the same day its close dropped from INR 1,348.85 to INR 271.75 overnight, a ratio close to five to one. That pattern matches a stock split, not a crash, and the price moved normally in the sessions before and after the adjustment. We are leaving ORIANA out of the mover count for September, though its INR 236.8 crores of turnover was real and keeps it among the month's most active names below.
Chavda Infra Limited (CHAVDA) carries the same kind of flag on 24 September, when its close fell from INR 140.00 to INR 70.30, almost exactly half. That matches a bonus issue rather than a genuine decline, so CHAVDA is left out of the mover count too, even though the stock went on to lose a further 10% through the rest of the month on its adjusted price.
Most active names this month
V Marc India Limited (VMARCIND) was the single most traded SME name of the month at INR 255.8 crores, down 6.8%. Oriana Power Limited, discussed above, followed at INR 236.8 crores on its split adjusted price. Anawil Wire and Engineering Ltd (ANAWIL) traded INR 220.4 crores, up 18.5%, and Aimtron Electronics Ltd (AIMTRON) traded INR 210.3 crores, up 19.2%. Anondita Medicare Limited (ANONDITA) traded INR 191.1 crores while closing almost flat, up 0.8%. Monolithisch India Ltd (MONOLITH) traded INR 186.2 crores, up 8.8%, and M.V.K. Agro Food Products Ltd (MVKAGRO) traded INR 174.8 crores, up 26.8%. All seven trade in the regular SM series.
How turnover moved through the month
September turnover stayed close to even through the month, INR 3,523.6 crores in the first half against INR 3,497.8 crores in the second. The single busiest day was 7 September, the first session after the weekend, at close to INR 455.3 crores, well clear of every other session that month. Shanti Inorganics Limited and Ashutosh Fibre Limited alone accounted for close to INR 99.6 crores of that day's turnover between them, each posting its largest gain of the month that same day. The quietest session came on 18 September, the same day Oriana Power Limited's split took effect, at INR 234.2 crores, before turnover climbed back to INR 358.2 crores on the final trading day, 30 September.
